Please note, the Tan Grille material (not pictured) on the rackmount cabinets is brittle, and may be missing on a few cabinets.   The grille frames are removable, and the material is easily replaced.

These speakers were first built in 2 versions: White laminate (Formica) finish with Wheat colored grilles, and Black laminate with a black grill.   This particular version simply mounted the cabinet horizontally onto a 19" 4RU (7") Rack blank with a cut out for the drivers, and a grille frame.

All were built without any jacks, and were hardwired with either pigtail leads or XLR connectors.   They are available in very limited quantities.

Some history:

Eastman Sound Manufacturing produced a line of high perfomance speakers under the name of Martin Speakers  Mr. Dan Greenfield, the late owner of Danby Radio corporation (15 South 21 ST street in Philadelphia, PA) introduced many audiophiles in the Philly area to Martin Speakers back in the late 1960's and early 70s.

The folks at Martin Speakers (and Mr Greenfield) were big fans of Philips drivers (made in Holland) and they both used lots of them in a variety of designs.  Mr. Greenfield delighted in switching on the Little Monsters tp observe his clients search all of the larger boxes in the room first, only to be surprised to find from where the music was coming.

These boxes are copies of Eastman Sound Martin Speakers which Mr. Greenfield always referred to as "the Little Monsters".    We took that to be the actual Model Designation.   The originals were built of wood grained, laminate covered boxes and had a remarkably full sound for a very small box.   They used a pair of 5" Philips Full Range drivers complete with Whizzer cones, in a small sealed box packed with fiberglass.    They are available in Black or White Laminate, and the cabinets have leads coming out of one end along with either a hook or a threaded mount.

These specimens use the same drivers found in a variety of the Martin cabinets, the Full range Philips AD5061M4.  This driver was often used as a midrange or mid bass driver in some other Eastman Martin designs.

These boxes contain a pair of Philips AD5061M4 Full Range drivers wired in Series for an 8 ohm load.

The AD5061s are 5 inch paper cone speakers with a treated linen surround and a 2 inch whizzer cone.   These boxes do an excellent job of full range music reproduction without any of the inherent problems associated with crossover networks.  They're apparent low frequency response is misleading.  These cabinets are very solidly constructed of glued .75" MDF board and covered with formica type laminate, in black or white.

They were used to provide low level voice reinforcement for small conference rooms and as playback monitors in a small TV facility.

Here is the data on the Philips Drivers:
    ▪    Impedance 4Ω, 3.2Ω DC
    ▪    Res Frequency:  85 Hz
    ▪    Power Handling: 15 Watts

Enclosures:  12" x 6.75" x  7.25"

Philips 5" (128mm)* paper cone full range drivers with 2 3/16" (55mm) whizzer cone -- this is terminated with a flat ring which helps reduce whizzer resonances.    Voice Coil is 1" (25mm). It has the trademark octagonal 8-legged stamped basket. Drivers have cloth surrounds.
