EOS is a high-quality 4 field by 4 line standards converter.

The system will perform bi-directional conversion of composite PAL and NTSC 3.58/4.43, Secam, PAL-M and PAL-N signals to a bandwidth of 3.2 MHz in PAL and 4.2 MHz in NTSC. EBU/SMPTE 8-bit 4:2:2 processing is used throughout.

EOS performs conversion between all six world standards as well as offering component YUV and Y/C input and output.

Selection of input standards may be made manually, using a front panel, or automatically by the system.

There are a number of option switches, for configuration of various system operational aspects, which are mounted on the main circuit boards. These are accessible by opening the front panel, which hinges by pulling the panel forward.
