Electret Mike Philmore CM-55

Electret Mike Philmore CM-55 has a smaller microphone housing, 11/16" x 5/16" D. The size reduction is accomplished by placing the battery and amplifier external to the microphone element.

The CM55 has the battery-powered amplifier circuitry located in the standard phone plug handle at the other end of the shielded 20 foot cable. The handle is unscrewed to remove the battery. An ON-OFF switch in the handle of the plug dissconnects the battery in the "OFF" position, making it unnecessary to remove the battery when the microphone is not being used.
