Altec Lansing A440A HiFi Preamplifier, sn224.

A 1950s Mono Altec HiFi Pre-amplifier, all tube, all original chassis and internal components. This piece will need recapping, etc., and has not been tested. A nice restoration project.

Part of a 1950s Mono HiFi setup, this one owner preamp is an uncommon example of early Altec consumer electronics. 
The case is in good condition overall, with some scratches to the top of the case right of center and along the front edge. (More detailed photos available on request.)

--Dual phono EQ selectors for LF and HF playback equalization (with 1954 setting charts for 40+ record companies)
--Bass and Treble controls (LF and HF Tone)

--Separate Rear panel adjustments to balance levels across the inputs.
--3 convenience outlets
--2 line Outputs 

--3 tube complement of 2x 12AY7, 1x 12AU7
--Uses a DC heater circuit for lower noise.
